Driven by ambition, he and his steadfast friend, Hu Jian, embarked on a perilous journey to Hangu Pass to join the army and fight for their homeland. In these troubled times, evil spirits began to emerge, sowing fear among the populace. In Chengdu, the wise old Taoist Xiaoyaozi roamed the streets, exorcising demons and seeking to restore peace. Meanwhile, in the faraway city of Chang’an, the sinister Taoist Xun Guoshi deceived the emperor, claiming he could unlock the secrets of immortality. To that end, he sent his minions to capture rare “dragon beasts” for the purpose of brewing potent immortal pills. By a twist of fate, Li Haobai came into contact with a mystical artifact known as the “Lizhu,” found within the body of a dragon beast. This chance encounter marked him as a target for many. Not only did Xun Guoshi’s men seek to capture Li Haobai, but various factions from the martial world also pursued him, hoping to obtain the Lizhu for their own immortal aspirations. As chaos ensued, Xiaoyaozi fortuitously found Li Haobai and rescued him from danger. The old Taoist revealed the grave consequences of possessing the Lizhu: if Li Haobai did not return it to the dragon vein of heaven and earth within thirty days, he would perish, unleashing a calamity upon the world. Determined to fulfill his duty, Li Haobai continued his journey to Hangu Pass, joined by Hu Jian and a wandering girl named Ayimu from the Western Regions. The camaraderie among the trio blossomed as they traveled together, and, to ensure their safety, Xiaoyaozi accompanied them, adapting to the unpredictable challenges ahead. As they navigated treacherous landscapes, they often evaded the relentless pursuit of Xun Guoshi and his minions. During their travels, the Lizhu began to bond with Li Haobai, and he unwittingly transformed into a powerful “black dragon,” a manifestation of the artifact’s immense energy. Amidst this transformation, a mysterious white dragon symbolizing “yang” appeared, intertwining its fate with Li Haobai’s journey. This ethereal creature led Xiaoyaozi away from Li Haobai, compelling him to uncover its secrets and the true nature of the Lizhu. Word of the Lizhu spread far and wide, attracting strange and formidable figures from across the land who sought to claim it for themselves. As danger loomed ever closer, Li Haobai, Hu Jian, Ayimu, and Xiaoyaozi found themselves in a race against time, battling both the forces of darkness and their own destinies, all while striving to protect the fragile balance of their world.
